Best Vaporizers for Microdoses

Microdosing is an effective way to enjoy your herbs without the “buzz”. Many users microdose to ease anxiety, alleviate pain, and to even boost their mood without slowing down. Let’s jump in and look at the best dry herb vaporizers for microdosing. But first, what is microdosing?

What is microdosing?

Microdoses involve very small doses of your chosen herbs. We’re talking very small hits or loads as tiny as 0.05 grams or less. In some cases, you’ll pack a fraction of your vaporizer’s capacity, or just enough to cover the bottom of the oven. Vapor is minimal, with just a few hits.

There are two ways to microdose – Pack a little, and take a little. With some vapes, you can pack a little bit and vape it all at once. With others, you can pack a lot and just take a small hit, leaving the rest for later. Make sure to get a vape that meets your style!

Effects without the “buzz”

Microdoses can provide very subtle, sometimes unnoticeable effects, but play an effective role on a molecular level. Many users microdose for a slight mood or creative boost, to relieve pain, or ease anxiety, all without hindering mental or physical performance.

Portable vaporizers

Portable vaporizers are popular options for microdoses. They’re small, go anywhere, and are highly efficient. The majority of our options are torch-powered, so you’ll never need to reach for a charger or worry about battery life.

Vapman

The Vapman vaporizer comes with one of the smallest bowls on the market and can pull vapor from virtually nothing! This handcrafted, portable vape is powered by a butane torch lighter and can easily vaporize loads as small as 0.01 grams. Just load the oven with a small amount of herbs, heat it up, and enjoy your microdose within 15 seconds. You can heat it “slow and steady” for a gentle, flavorful hit, or push it to the brink for a full, potent microdose. It’s up to you!

DynaVap

The DynaVap vapcap vaporizer is another one of our torch-powered vaporizers that excels with microdoses. The DynaVap is a nearly indestructible pen-shaped vaporizer that audibly “clicks” when it’s ready to go, and comes with a bowl that adjusts down to vape loads as small as 0.05 grams. Pack the bowl, heat it until it “clicks” and inhale as much or as little as you want. To switch it up, heat just before the click for soft, cooler hits, or heat a little past it for a thicker, fuller hit. With an attractive price point, the DynaVap vaporizer is a great, budget-friendly option.

Firefly 2+

The Firefly 2+ is one of the best portable vaporizers for microdoses. It’s an on-demand convection vaporizer that allows you to take a small hit or two and come back to it later, instead of consuming it all at once. It takes away the guesswork of our previous choices with seven preset temperature settings, and a three second heat up. Pack the oven full, choose your temperature, and take one or two small hits to complete your microdose. With a customizable bluetooth app, the Firefly 2+ is a great choice for those that want an easy, flavorful microdosing experience with stellar vapor quality.

XMAX V3 Pro

The XMAX V3 Pro is another great pickup for microdosing. It’s a more budget-friendly, full convection vaporizer that comes with both session and on-demand modes. Like the Firefly 2+, the V3 Pro only vaporizes when you want it to. Set it to on-demand mode, pack it full, and take short, easy puffs. Set it down for the day and pick it up again at night when it’s time for more. With a suite of useful features like precise temperature control, a full OLED display, and a removable battery, the XMAX V3 Pro is hard to beat.

Sticky Brick

The Sticky Brick vaporizers are on-demand convection vaporizers powered by a butane torch lighter. These hardwood vaporizers produce some of the thickest rips on the market, but excel at small, microdose-friendly sessions. With wide airflow and a large heating chamber, these vapes are strong enough to vaporize an entire load at once, but versatile enough to produce a complete hit from the tiniest amount. Pack in as little as 0.01 grams and receive a gentle, yet effective microdose.

The Sticky Brick vaporizers come with a learning curve and take some practice to master. Check out our Quickstart guide to hone your skills.

Desktop vaporizers

Desktop vaporizers are fantastic for your at-home microdoses, with the precision and efficiency of temperature control, and limitless power to vape all day.

EpicVape E-nano by Epickai

Desktop vaporizers are usually reserved for large appetites, but the E-nano keeps up with even the smallest hits. This high-quality vaporizer comes with a glass mouthpiece and bowl that condenses down to accommodate loads as small as 0.015 grams, with unlimited desktop power. Take a small hit, remove the glass stem, and set it aside for later. Its full convection heat only produces vapor when you need it. If you want a precise microdose, adjust the stainless steel oven screen, and load in just the right amount for you. If you mostly microdose at home, and want something low-profile and always ready to go, the E-nano is the clear choice.

Volcano Classic

The time-tested Volcano Classic by Storz & Bickel is another great option for at-home microdoses. It’s an efficient, full convection vaporizer that comes with a large 0.5 gram oven and works much like the Firefly 2+. Pack the oven full and fill a bag with as much or as little as you want and inhale just what you need. You can do this as many times as you want, until your herbs are spent. Just remove the bowl in between heat cycles to savor your herbs. If you want to microdose with the best of the best, look no further than the Volcano Classic.

Warranty

Each vaporizer comes with its own manufacturer’s warranty, and when you buy from us, you’ll also receive our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.

How much should I microdose? It’s up to you!

A traditional microdose can start anywhere from 0.05 grams and reach all the way down to 0.001 grams, however, the perfect dose varies from person to person. One dose may be a lot to one person, not enough for another, and just right for a third. If you’re unsure, start low and work your way up for your first time. You can always add more later!

Microdosing dry herbs is easy

1. Grind your herbs

Take a small chunk of your herbs and grind it down to a medium consistency. Grind types vary, depending on your vaporizer, but this is a good place to start.

2. Load the oven

For vapes with smaller ovens, load just enough to evenly cover the bottom of the oven chamber. This is a good place to start regardless of experience. It’s enough to play around with while you dial in your perfect dose.

For larger ovens, pack the oven full to the brim and give it a soft tamp. This will ensure a full, even cook that you can take your time with and come back to later when you’re ready for more.

3. Heat it up

Whether you have a torch or battery-powered vaporizer, you’ll want to start slow. 380°F / 193°C is a good place to start with precise temperature control. Adjust the temperature to your style from there.

4. Take a short sip through the mouthpiece

When it’s ready to hit, take a short, soft sip of about two seconds and exhale. If you don’t see any visible vapor, give it another draw or two.

5. Wait a few minutes

Give it a few minutes for the effects to kick in and gauge where you’re at. The effects should be anywhere from subtle to barely noticeable. If you’re not satisfied, go in for more!
